Store Pick This is our Triple Smoke selection, a combination of two barrels that we selected blended together, to make sure we have enough for you and in all truth a bottle or two for ourselves. The nose shows aromas reminiscent of camping in Northern California with honey, earth, caramel, smoke and nuts. The palate has ample flavors of peat, brown butter, sweet spice rubs, old leather, brown sugar and grilled stone fruits. D&M Tasting Notes
American Malt Whiskey Pot Distilled From Cherry, Beechwood and Peat Smoked Barley 64.75% ABV Cask Strength
This bottling has become a favorite for many of our "Scotch" customers, as well as our American whiskey fans
Corsair is from those mad scientists of potent tipples out of Tennessee and emerged out of that very American pastime of tinkering in a garage. Corsair’s origin story is that while childhood friends Darek Bell and Andrew Webber were working on a bio-diesel plant Darek’s garage, Andrew remarked that making whiskey would be much more satisfying. The spark for ‘booze for badasses’ was lit, and has taken off from there.
Darek and Andrew were joined from the beginning by Darek’s wife Amy, who is largely responsible for the highly distinctive visual swagger of the company. The company is also a typical in the whiskey world by having a Head Distiller and Head Brewer who are women, both of whom say that Corsair is a fantastic collaborative and egalitarian work environment.
One third of the malt is smoked with peat smoke in a nod to Scottish Whisky, the beechwood smoke is a take on German Smoked Beer, and the cherrywood smoked Malt has no historical precedent- it was simply done for fun.All of this comes together in a whiskey that combines a nod to history with an eye to something completely new.Aged in small barrels for several years, the new oak and smoke play quite well together..
