This year's cuvee is a blend of around 50/50 Cabernet and Merlot. The nose shows a soft red fruit with sage, oak barrel and a just there minerality. The palate is rounded and balanced with black fruits, tobacco, oak spice and a light minerality on the finish. Wonderful for less than $30.00. D&M Tasting Notes
Château de Cérons has a gravity-fed system on several levels in its winery which aliments both concrete and stainless-steel vats. The winery has been renovated and thermo-regulation put in place to enable the vinification of both red and white wines. There are also two barrel cellars.
The Château de Cérons “Grand Enclos” 2014 has plenty of raspberry and crème de cassis fruit on the nose, quite candied in style compared to the regular bottling. The palate is medium-bodied with rigid backbone rendering this foursquare in style, but it is nicey composed and shows commendable complexity on the finish. This is a gutsy Graves that should drink well for a decade after bottling. 88-90 Points Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate April 2015.
