This "Grower Champagne" Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru is lovely with a nose of candied nuts, flowers, fresh biscuits and apricots. The palate is quite clean and precise with racy flavors of pear, limes and a lemon custard note on the finish. In terms of food pairings, you may want to play around with sole or trout with a white sauce .D&M Tasting Notes
This comes from four Grand Cru villages from the Côte des Blancs. The Bouquin-Dupont family has been involved in growing in Champagne since the gap between the two World Wars, beginning in 1929 with the first grapes being produced in 1934. The patriarch, Paul Gaston Emile Dupont, continued as a grower until his daughter and son-in-law took over in 1968 when their last name Bouquin was added to the name of the domaine.
Now in the third generation, they harvest less than seven and a half acres in the côte with most of the land holdings existing in Avize. Avize is quite well known for the incredible quality of it’s collective Chardonnay production. This Champagne comes to us from a new Importer, one of whose owners began her journey making California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay before returning to her first love of Champagne.
